Texas Health Resources is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for our Family Care Clinic in Bedford, TX. This full-time role supports patient care under the supervision of clinicians and collaborates with a skilled team.

You will collect vitals, assist with procedures, manage basic tests (EKG), and ensure smooth patient flow. New grads welcomed with onsite externship; BCLS required within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CMA certification required.
• Completion of THPG Clinical Training within 90 days of entry.
• New grads welcome with onsite externship.
• One year MA experience preferred.
• NCT training may be required upon hire (preferred).
• BCLS within 90 days of hire (required).
• Proficient computer skills with medical management systems.
• Effective communication with staff and patients.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations.
• Demonstrate sound judgement in emergencies.
• Take appropriate action in urgent circumstances.
• Positive, patient-focused attitude and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients using the CMA process.
• Performs general patient care following established standards and procedures.
• Greets and prepares patients for the healthcare provider.
• Obtains and records vital signs (BP, temp, pulse, resp, height, weight, allergies, meds).
• Perform routine tests such as EKG.
• Schedules patients for diagnostic testing and follows up on completion.
• Documents care plans, tests, and results in the medical record.
• Communicates test results and care plan to patients by phone or mail.
• Keeps exam rooms stocked, clean, and orderly.
• Escalates non-routine issues to the practice manager or providers.
• Ensures safety checklists/quality controls are completed.
• Promotes patient safety and privacy rights.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
