Job summary

Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health in Brandon, FL is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support the Family Practice department. This part-time role covers Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with occasional Saturday, under the supervision of the physician or APP in an ambulatory setting.

The position requires high school graduation and Medical Assistant training (or at least one year of verifiable CMA work experience).

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school (or at least one year of verifiable and applicable work experience as a Certified Medical Assistant in a patient care setting).
• Maintains current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification.
• Maintains current CMA/CCMA/CMAA certifications by listed agencies.

Responsibilities

• Accountable to the Assistant Nurse Manager, Nursing Operations Manager, or Practice Manager for operational issues.
• Embraces quality initiatives and clinical outcome improvement activities.
• Gathers patient data through interviews and observation.
• Assists patients and families with preparation for examination.
• Assists physician or APP during examination and procedures.
• Documents patient data and education according to policies.
• Supports scheduling and coordination for specialty testing and consultations.

Education

Medical Assistant training from approved technical school

One year CMA work experience in patient care setting
