Job summary

Orlando Health in Brandon, FL is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for part-time hours, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with occasional Saturdays in Family Practice.

You will perform patient care under the direction of a physician or APP in an ambulatory setting and support scheduling, data entry, and patient communication. Strong CMA credentials and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school (or at least one year of verifiable CMA experience) is required.
• Maintains current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification.
• CMA/CCMA/CMAC/NCMA or NRCMA/NRCAMA/RMA certifications (or equivalents) are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gathers patient data through interviews and observation.
• Assists physicians during examinations and procedures.
• Documents patient data, treatments, and education according to policies.
• Communicates effectively with patients and families.
• Schedules and coordinates referrals and tests as needed.
• Maintains infection control and safety standards.
