Job summary

Novant Health's Pinnacle Orthopedics Salisbury is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support providers and coordinate care for the practice population.

The CMA will perform preliminary exams, help with examinations and procedures, manage patient charts and document results, and administer medications as ordered by the clinician.

Candidates must be certified or obtain certification within six months of hire and hold a current State Driver's License; schedule is Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Candidates must provide proof of CMA certification from one of the approved registries (AAMA, NHA, AMT, NCCT, NAHP, ARMA). If not certified, certification must be obtained within six months of hire.
• Current State Driver's License is required (Palliative Care Only).

Responsibilities

• Perform and document preliminary patient assessments (height, weight, pulse, BP, temperature).
• Review and prepare patient charts for accuracy.
• Interview patients to gather medical history and needs.
• Assist providers with examinations, treatments, procedures, and testing.
• Administer medications and immunizations as ordered by the provider.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality for patient results.
• Ensure results are reported to the clinician and document QA activities.
