Job summary

San Luis Valley Health in Antonito, CO is hiring for a full-time Certified Medical Assistant to support the Antonito Clinic with clerical and clinical duties.

The role requires graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program within 12 months of hire and BLS certification. Prior medical reception or clinical experience is preferred, and the candidate will take vitals and assist with patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduation within 12 months of hire from an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
• BLS required.
• Prior medical reception and/or clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with clerical duties such as answering phones and greeting patients.
• Update and maintain patient files and medical records
• Schedule appointments and manage provider schedules
• Take vitals, explain treatment procedures, collect and prepare lab specimens
• Authorize prescription refills and manage prescriptions with pharmacies
• Sterilize medical equipment and maintain a clean working space
