Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform patient intake and document medical history.
• Carry out patient triage and administer vital signs.
• Collect specimens and perform phlebotomy.
• Assist with gynecologic, surgical, and wound procedures.
• Ensure temperature log maintenance and QA processes.
• Ensure accurate EKG performance.
• Assist physician with gynecologic, surgical and wound procedures.
• Process pharmaceutical prior authorizations.
• Phone triage and pharmacy communications for refills.
• Perform Medicare Annual Wellness Visits.
• Enter lab/radiology orders electronically.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The Medical Assistant exudes a strong dedication to offering exceptional patient care. Capability to facilitate the efficient flow of the patient office visit experience while maintaining high quality and compassionate care.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform patient intake to include medical history with accurate documentation in the electronic health record.
• Patient triage to include vital signs (i.e. blood pressure, pulse, respirations, temperature, height and weight).
• Perform phlebotomy and ancillary clinical kit testing and specimen collection.
• Administering immunizations and variety of injections.
• Maintain temperature logs, QA processes, OSHA policies.
• Ensure accurate performance of EKG’s.
• Assisting physician with gynecologic, surgical and wound procedures/exams.
• Completing pharmaceutical prior authorizations.
• Phone triage to include communication with pharmacies for patient medication refills.
• Performing Medicare Annual Wellness Visits.
• Electronic input of patient lab/radiology orders.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of laboratory techniques to perform routine laboratory tests.
