Job summary

BMC Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers with patient flow, vital signs, and exam room preparation. You will assist with exams, tests, and procedures, and help coordinate referrals.

Strong communication, organization, and a willingness to learn software are essential. A High School Diploma is required, CMA certification preferred, and a 40-hour day shift is available. This is a non-exempt, on-site role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; CMA credential preferred or to be obtained.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Certification as Medical Assistant is required or must be in progress.

Responsibilities

• Greets and escorts patient to exam rooms and gathers initial information and vitals.
• Prepares exam rooms with proper cleanliness and supplies.
• Assists with exams, tests, and procedures.
• Schedules appointments and manages referrals as needed.
• Assists provider during examinations and procedures.
• Educates patients on follow-up expectations.
• Maintains quality control testing logs.
• Ensures medical equipment is in proper working condition.
