Job summary

UMass Memorial Health – Franklin Family Practice is looking for a Certified Medical Assistant II to join our on-site team in Franklin, MA. This role supports clinicians with clinical care and clerical duties, working a Monday–Friday schedule with 40 hours per week.

Under supervision, you will take vital signs, perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and POCT, assist with injections and routine exams, and review lab results for abnormal values to notify the physicians promptly.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current BLS or Heart Saver certification from the American Heart Association; if not available, obtained within 3 months from date of hire.
• Medical Assistant credential approved by MA Department of Health (ARMA, NHA, etc.).
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for above requirements.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to examination rooms and record vital signs.
• Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and Point of Care tests per clinic standards.
• Prepare, document, and administer non-intravenous injections as directed.
• Assist in routine physical examinations or clinical procedures.

Position Qualifications:****License/Certification/Education:****Required:**1. High School Diploma or equivalent.2. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Heart Saver (HS) certification from the American Heart Association. If not available upon hire, a BLS/HS must be obtained within 3 months from date of hire. If certification is not obtained within 3 months of hire, the employee may be terminated or employee may apply for another position for which they meet the minimum qualifications.3.
