Job summary

Articularis Healthcare Group, Inc. in Bluffton, SC is seeking a full-time Certified Medical Assistant - Floater to support providers across locations. The role involves patient intake, vital signs, charting in EMR, and assistance with labs, referrals, and procedures.

The CMA will float between practices, assist front desk, infusion suite, and research department as needed, while upholding HIPAA and high quality patient care. Prior certification (CMA or RMA) and phlebotomy experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification.
  • At least 1 year of Medical Assistant experience.
  • At least 1 year of phlebotomy experience.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in a clinical setting and EMR navigation.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider with a professional, compassionate manner.
  • Monitor and assist patients during office visits.
  • Obtain and record vital signs, height, weight, allergies, medications, and medical history in the EMR.
  • Update charts and complete documentation of care plans and test results.
  • Prepare, clean and sterilize instruments; maintain room and equipment per protocol.
  • Float between practices and assist front desk, infusion suite, and Research Department as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The Certified Medical Assistant - Floater will be responsible for assisting the provider with facilitation of patient visit and procedures, routine
laboratory tests, referrals, and quality outcomes for patients of the practice. This position is expected to float between practices as needed, as well as
assist with our Patient Services Representatives, Infusion Suite and Research Department as needed.

As a Certified Medical Assistant - Floater, typical duties might look like:

  • Responsible for greeting and preparing patients for the health care provider while maintaining a positive and caring attitude.
  • Responsible for monitoring, tracking and assisting patients during office visits.
  • Responsible for patient safety and protection of patient privacy rights by observing HIPAA regulations.
  • Obtains and accurately records patient information; vital signs, height, weight, allergies, current medications, and all medical history in the EMR.
  • Responsible for updating charts and tracking paperwork to completion.
  • Responsible for cleaning and preparing examination rooms, equipment, and tools per protocol.
  • Accurately documents patient plan(s) of care, tests and examination results in the medical record as directed by the provider.
  • Responsible for preparing, cleaning and sterilizing instruments and maintain equipment; stock in patient exam rooms while maintaining cleanliness and organization and disposes of contaminated items according to protocol.
  • Responsible for floating between practices if applicable
  • Assists the Patient Services Representatives at the front desk as needed.
  • Assists the Research Department as needed.
  • Assists the Infusion Suite as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.
This job might be for you if possess the following:
  • Successful completion of an Accredited National Certification Exam (i.e.: AAMA or AMT) for Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
  • One (1) year of Medical Assistant experience.
  • One (1) year of phlebotomy experience.
  • High School degree or equivalent.
  • Experience in a clinical setting.
  • Experience and ability to navigate an EMR.
  • Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills.
