Position Title: Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) - Pediatric Outpatient Clinic

Employment Type: Full-Time, Contract-to-Hire

Schedule: Four 10-Hour Shifts (Mon-Fri, 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM; ~1 Saturday every 6-8 weeks, 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM)

Pay Rate: $26.40 - $39.46 / hour (based on experience)

Position Overview

We are seeking an energetic, patient-focused Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) to join a premier pediatric healthcare team in the South Sound area. This role is ideal for clinicians who thrive in direct patient-facing care and love working with children from newborns to young adults.

This position floats between four local clinic locations (Tacoma, Federal Way, and Gig Harbor) with schedules set a month in advance. Bridge toll reimbursements are provided when commuting to Gig Harbor.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct Clinical Care: Perform rooming, take vital signs, and update detailed medical histories in EPIC for 18-26 pediatric patients per shift.
• Immunizations & Injections: Prepare and administer routine vaccines and immunizations across all pediatric age groups (newborns through young adults).
• Procedure Assistance: Assist providers with clinical procedures including circumcisions, suture removals, and breathing treatments.
• Clinic Operations: Clean, sanitize, and prepare exam rooms to ensure a safe, welcoming, and child-friendly environment.
• Patient Experience: Create a warm, playful, and soothing healthcare experience to put young patients and their families at ease.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Certification: Active Medical Assistant - Certified (MA-C) license through the Washington State Department of Health (DOH).
• Skills & Personality: Warm, empathetic demeanor with a genuine passion for pediatric care; highly coachable with strong multi-tasking skills.
• Flexibility: Ability and willingness to float between clinics in Tacoma, Federal Way, and Gig Harbor (schedules assigned 30 days in advance).

• Prior clinical experience in Pediatrics or Family Medicine.
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records software.
