Job summary

UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Woodridge, IL is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our fast-paced primary care and specialty clinics. You will support providers, take vitals, and help prepare exam rooms in a collaborative team.

The role includes front-line clerical duties, patient education, and documentation of visits. Candidates should have a high school diploma and BLS; prior medical office experience is preferred. Day shifts with some flexibility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred 1+ year experience as medical assistant in primary care or specialty clinic.
• Preferred customer service experience in medical office.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients, measures vital signs and records information.
• Assists with provider-ordered treatments under supervision.
• Prepares treatment rooms for examinations.
• Performs basic clerical duties including answering phones, maintaining records, and filing.
• Orders and stocks supplies, ensuring a clean and orderly environment.
• Documents provider encounters with patients, including diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions.
• Transcribes patient orders for laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications.
• Provides patient education and explanations of risks and benefits.
• Collaborates with healthcare professionals to perform procedures and treatments.
• Maintains accurate documentation of all patient interactions and medical procedures.
• Ensures compliance with clinical policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

Up to $3,000 sign-on bonus available for eligible applicants

Float between Primary Care and Specialty Clinics

Clinic Hours: Monday-Friday 7a-7p, Saturday 7a-1p, Scheduled based on clinic need

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• American Association Medical Assistants (CMA) [Required] OR
• Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC) [Required] OR
• Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) [Required] OR
• National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) [Required] OR
