Job summary

AdventHealth is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant at our Sanford, FL facility. You will interview patients, measure vital signs, and document in patient charts; assist with provider-ordered treatments under supervision; prepare rooms and stock supplies.

The role requires a High School Grad or Equivalent and BLS certification plus CMA/CMAC/CMCA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/NRCMA certifications; patient education and collaboration with healthcare professionals; full-time schedule Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equiv is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required and CMA/CMAC/CMCA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/NRCMA certifications are required or equivalent.
• Customer service experience in medical office is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients' charts.
• Assists with treatments ordered by the provider under supervision.
• Prepares treatment rooms for patient examinations.
• Performs basic clerical duties, including answering phones, maintaining records, and filing.
• Documents provider encounters with patients, including diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions.

Job Description:

Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients' charts. Assists with treatments ordered by the provider under supervision. Prepares treatment rooms for patient examinations. Performs basic clerical duties, including answering phones, maintaining records, and filing. Orders and stocks supplies, ensuring a clean and orderly environment. Documents provider encounters with patients, including diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions. Transcribes patient orders for laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications. Provides patient education and explanations of risks and benefits. Collaborates with healthcare professionals to perform procedures and treatments. Maintains accurate and thorough documentation of all patient interactions and medical procedures. Ensures compliance with clinical policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned.
