Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our urgent care team in CENTREVILLE, VA. You will register patients, collect demographics and insurance, and assist with scheduling while preparing patients for exams and documenting histories.

Responsibilities include vitals, venipuncture, point-of-care testing, and communicating results to providers. You will maintain rooms, inventory, and EMR documentation, supporting operations across centers.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability and willingness to float between assigned centers within the market.
  • Candidates with fewer than three years of Medical Assistant experience must hold an approved Medical Assistant certification or obtain certification within twelve months of hire.
  • Accepted Medical Assistant certifications include CCMA, CMA, RMA, NCMA, and NRCMA.
  • Candidates without Medical Assistant certification at hire may be considered with three or more years of Medical Assistant experience and one or more years in an Urgent Care, Emergency Department, or Hospital setting.
  • LPN, RN, EMT, Paramedic, or CNA credentials may be accepted in lieu of Medical Assistant certification.
  • CPOE certification must be obtained within two weeks of the start date.
  • Proficiency in Medical Assistant clinical duties.
  • Strong phlebotomy and specimen collection skills.
  • Experience performing point-of-care testing.
  • Strong computer and documentation skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

  • Communicate test results to providers.
  • Perform venipuncture and prepare laboratory specimens.
  • Clean, prepare, and stock examination rooms.
  • Monitor and maintain medical supplies and inventory.
  • Complete accurate EMR documentation.
  • Support front desk operations, patient communication, and phone management.
  • Conduct patient follow-up calls as directed.
  • Perform opening and closing clinic duties, including cash handling and reconciliation.
  • Conduct equipment checks, quality control procedures, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Adhere to clinical, safety, compliance, and operational policies.
  • Float between assigned urgent care centers within the market.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
