Job summary

The Certified Medical Assistant reports to the Outpatient Clinic Manager at MUSC Community Physicians. Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information in patients' medical records. Prepares treatment rooms for examination and supports a decentralized patient‑centered approach to care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited medical assisting program with one year of patient care experience preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either AHA or ARC recognized.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information in the medical record.
• Prepares treatment rooms for examination.
• Assists in examination and treatment under physician direction.
• Maintains basic computer skills for charting and documentation.
