Job summary

Highpoint Health Winchester with Ascension Saint Thomas, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks a Certified Medical Assistant for on-site support. The role focuses on direct patient care under RN oversight, vital signs, ADLs assistance, and precise documentation within a collaborative hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• National Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant required.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Handle with Care certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Monitors and records vital signs, intake/output, and reports changes to nursing staff.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, toileting, eating, ambulation).
• Observes and reports abnormal physical, mental, or emotional findings promptly.
• Maintains patient rooms and common areas for a clean, safe environment.
• Supports nursing and physician staff with patient care activities and unit workflow.
