Job summary

PrimeCare Medical, Inc. is seeking dedicated Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs) to work part-time in the Charles County Detention Center in La Plata, MD.

You will provide comprehensive nursing care under supervision, perform initial intake screenings, take vital signs, and support the clinic with patient flow. The role includes a 2-week orientation and requires clerical typing, good communication, and knowledge of medical terminology.

Qualifications

• Active Medical Assistant Certification required.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced clinical setting.
• Clerical experience and ability to type are required.
• Strong communication skills and pleasant telephone manner.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial intake screening for new patients and measure vital signs.
• Prepare and maintain examination and treatment areas.
• Verify medications and medical information by phone.
• Obtain lab specimens including venipunctures as ordered by physicians.
• Administer tuberculin skin testing on new intakes and follow-ups.
• Type various reports, letters, and memoranda; answer calls and maintain filing system.
• Adhere to universal precautions and maintain confidentiality at all times.
