Job summary

Novant Health Crown Point Family Physicians in Southeast Charlotte is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join a team delivering patient-centered care across all life stages. You will support providers, coordinate exams, and contribute to a welcoming, efficient clinic.

The role offers exposure to adult primary care, pediatrics, women's services, and sports medicine, with walk-in services and collaborative teammates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CMA/CCMA/RMA certification from AAMA/NHA/AMT/NCCT/NAHP or equivalent, or obtain within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary exams including vitals and documentation.
• Coordinate patient flow and assist providers to ensure efficient clinic operations.
• Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs and medical histories and updating EMR.
• Perform clinical procedures within scope of practice (injections, immunizations, EKGs, and specimen collection).
• Assist with prescription refills, referrals, and prior authorizations.
• Maintain an organized, patient-centered clinic environment.

In addition to adult primary care this practice also sees a high number of pediatric patients, women's services patients, and sports medicine patients. Crown Point Family Physicians also offers walk-in services.

As a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), you will play a vital role in coordinating clinical care and assisting providers to ensure safe, high-quality, and cost-effective healthcare for patients across all stages of life. What You'll Do

• Patient Care: Perform and document necessary preliminary exam needs on patient to include: height,


• Partner with providers to deliver outstanding patient care and support efficient clinic operations.


• Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs, medical histories, and updating electronic medical records.


• Perform clinical procedures within scope of practice, including injections, immunizations, medication administration, EKGs, point-of-care testing, and specimen collection.


• Coordinate patient flow to ensure timely, efficient visits while maintaining a positive patient experience.


• Assist with prescription refills, referrals, prior authorizations, and follow-up care.

    • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
    
    
    • National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
    
    
    • American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA).
    
    
    • If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement.
    
    
    
    
  
  
  
  


• Experience: Previous work in a medical office, preferred.


• Licensure/Certification: Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA; required.


• Additional skills required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
