Job summary

Atlantic Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to provide general direct and indirect patient care under physician supervision in an outpatient clinical setting. You will collaborate with the care team to ensure smooth operations, manage clerical tasks, and support specialized clinical duties as needed.

Required qualifications include a High School Diploma and CCMA certification. Preferred candidates may have an Associate's degree, 1 year of health care experience, or 2+ years in

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• National Certification CCMA from: NHA, AAMA, NAHP, ARMA, AMT, AMCA, or NCCT.
• Precertification agreement must be signed if expired or receiving certification within 60 days of employment.
• Associate's degree in Medical Care or related field.
• 1 year of experience in Health Care services.
• 2+ Years Experience in outpatient, ambulatory setting.
• Excellent Communication, Work Ethic, Active Listening, Adaptability to working in fast pace environment, and hold upmost professionalism at all times.
• BLS upon hire
• EPIC or similar EMR system
• Ability to work within computer systems

Responsibilities

• Handles patient intake, updates medical records, and administers appropriate screening tools.
• Records medical information and test results, conducts patient interviews, takes and records vital signs, collects specimens, and administers medication under physician supervision.
• Assists with walk-in and scheduled clinic visits, ensures verification and recording of clinical data and adherence to quality standards.
• Guides patients through the health care system and helps patients arrive at scheduled appointments on time.
• Taking vital signs and establishing baselines before exams.
• Assisting with examinations and working with physicians on clinical tasks.
• Collecting and preparing laboratory samples and instructing patients on collection or drawing blood.
• Maintains professional communication and supports a fast-paced environment.
• Greeting patients and scheduling appointments.
• Maintaining medical records in the computer system.
• Cleaning and prepping examination rooms and stocking supplies.
• Provides emotional support per the care plan.
• Assists with referrals to specialists.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
