Job summary

Loyola Medicine, a member of Trinity Health, seeks a Medical Assistant in the Day Shift (Monday–Friday) with full-time status. The role involves direct patient care in ambulatory settings, coordination of pre/intra/post visit activities, and collaboration with physicians and health care teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma plus training acquired through work experience or education.
• Administrative or technical background acquired through completion of 2 - 3 years of college.
• One year of Medical Assistant work experience or successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) within six months of hire from AAMA/AMT/NCCT/NHA.
• CPR/BLS by the American Heart Association – upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides care to the patient and support to the physician throughout the entire visit, from arrival at reception to checkout.
• Assists with history taking, routine tasks and procedures, scheduling, and follow-up orders.
• Work under supervision of a registered professional nurse when needed or in the physician's absence.
• Coordinate pre/intra/post aspects of the medical visit and communicate with patients and other health care professionals.
