Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant training program required.
• Registered MA or Nationally certified MA certifications required.
• Two to four years prior medical assistant or healthcare experience preferred.
• Bilingual skills (Spanish) are a plus.
• Computer skills and typing required. Previous EMR experience strongly preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Calm, professional attitude in stressful situations and high ethics in confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients, ensuring smooth workflow for physician schedule.
• Utilize EMR to retrieve and update patient records and test results.
• Room patients, take vital signs, and support clinical staff.
• Answer phones, relay messages, and perform follow-up calls to patients.
• Assist with nursing desk phones and voicemail and relay messages promptly.
• Maintain patient charts and copy/ fax documentation as needed.
• Schedule tests and procedures per doctor orders; ensure proper facility use.
• Post results on charts and forward for physician review.
