Job summary

Covenant Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant / Licensed Practical Nurse for Knoxville Heart Group to support daily patient care. Under supervision, you will assist physicians, perform basic nursing tasks, take vitals, manage intake, and enter data into the EMR.

You will maintain a safe, organized exam area, ensure proper charting, and support scheduling and note prep. The role emphasizes patient privacy, compassion, and teamwork within a busy cardiology clinic.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant license is required.
• Performs basic nursing procedures and patient care under supervision.
• Assists physicians with examinations and direct patient care.
• Inputs information into the EMR and maintains medical records.
• Maintains infection control standards and safe clinical environment.
• Supports note prep, scheduling, and prescription refills as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintains policies, safety standards, and infection control.
• Measures vitals, height, and weight per oncology best practice.
• Performs venipunctures and injections as scoped.
• Interviews patients, enters initial evaluation data into EMR.
• Assists with examinations, procedures, and patient care.
• Keeps supplies stocked and exam rooms clean and ready.
• Prepares charts and assists with provider scheduling.
• Provides professional reception and real-time appointment management.
• Supports age-appropriate care across patient populations.
• Participates in education and quality improvement initiatives.
