Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support clinicians by preparing exam areas, assisting with patient visits, and performing basic clinical procedures. The role emphasizes accurate vital signs, documentation, confidentiality, and efficient clerical support to ensure smooth patient flow in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, certification in medical assisting, and graduation from an accredited program;

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.
• Knowledge of computerized processes and data entry procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepares exam room, treatment room, supplies and instruments.
• Prepares patients for physician visit and examination assisting as directed.
• Takes patient’s vital signs and records in medical chart.
• Performs EKG, PFT, Audiometry as indicated after evaluation checklist.
• Maintains records by completing patient records and filing reports.
• Assists with collections/billing procedures as needed.
• Uses computer software to maintain office systems.
• Identifies and responds to confidentiality issues.
• Lifts a minimum of 5 lbs. and stands a minimum of 6 hours daily.
• Adheres to organizational competencies and other duties as assigned.
