The Certified Medical Assistant provides clinical support within the scope of practice, contributing to patient care and documentation, administering medications, and supporting virtual visits under provider supervision.
Active Medical Assisting certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NHA, NCRMA, NCMA, NCCT) and BLS certification are required prior to independent patient care.
High School/GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred (except South Carolina, where specific requirements apply).
Externship or clinical training preferred; 1 year of recent Medical Assisting experience preferred.
