Position: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)- Super Kids Mobile Clinic

We are searching for a Certified Medical Assistant (Mobile Clinic)— someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will provide clinical support for patients in the hospital’s various ambulatory settings promoting cost effective, age appropriate, safe, and high-quality family centered care. This person will be trained to drive one of our mobile vans or trucks to various locations in Houston to service patients.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Texas Driving License (active) - along with a clear driving record
  • Technical diploma from a medical assisting or emergency medical technician program
  • BLS American Heart Association certification
  • Healthcare and pediatric experience preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, medical assistant/outpatient care tasks, and customer service concepts
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, and operate basic medical equipment
  • Pediatric vaccinations experience is highly preferred

  • EMT Certified Emergency Medical Technologist from the Texas Department of State and Health Services
  • EMT-A Certified Advanced Emergency Medical Technologist from the Texas Department of State and Health Services
  • EMT-B Certified Emergency Medical Technologist-Basic from the Texas Department of State and Health Services
  • EMT-I Certified Emergency Medical Technologist-Intermediate from the Texas Department of State and Health Services
  • EMT-P Certified Emergency Medical Technologist-Paramedic from the Texas Department of State and Health Services
  • LIC PAR- License Paramedic from the Texas Department of State and Health Services
  • NCMA- National Medical Assistant Certification from the National Center for Competency Testing
  • NRCMA - Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant from the National Association of Health Professionals
  • RMA- Registered Medical Assistant from the American Association of Medical Personnel, American Allied Health, American Medical Technologists, or American Registry of Medical Assistants

Responsibilities

  • Provide vaccinations to patients (understanding appropriate vaccination per age group)
  • Drive the mobile vehicle to/from locations around Houston to provide care for patients
  • Document pertinent information in the medical record such as current immunizations, allergy status, vital signs, current medications, etc.
  • Follow institutional and departmental policies and procedures regarding waive testing, quality controls, instrument calibrations, and maintenance
  • Process lab specimens and perform tests
  • Report results as written in applicable policies and procedures
