Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - St. George Primary Care - Medical Office

Join Mercy Health as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) at our St. George Primary Care Medical Office. We are considering Non-certified Medical Assistants too, but certification must be obtained within 12 months of starting.

Job Summary

The CMA works closely with the primary care physician to deliver high-quality patient care, including reviewing and updating health records, measuring vital signs, and preparing treatment rooms.

Essential Functions
  • Greeting patients and providing excellent customer service
  • Preparing and reviewing patient charts for upcoming visits
  • Measuring vital signs such as pulse, respiration, blood pressure, weight, and height
  • Performing clerical duties like checking inventory, tracking referrals, and answering phones
  • Resolving problems promptly
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
  • High School Degree or GED
  • Active Medical Assisting certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NRCMA, NCMA, or NCCT) or Assessment-Based Recognition in Order Entry (not in South Carolina)
  • BLS certification (required at hire for some locations)
  • One year of healthcare experience (preferred)
  • Two years of clerical experience in a physician’s office (preferred)
