Job description

Overview

Responsible for providing patient care including assessment, treatment, care planning, and medical care evaluation by following established standards and practices. Assists physicians, mid-level providers, and other staff in coordinating patient care.

Responsibilities
  1. Cares for and assists patients as appropriate, and reports patient care issues to providers.
  2. Prepares exam rooms by cleaning and stocking supplies.
  3. Obtains and documents patient intake, including history of present illness, health history, vital signs, and health risk factors. Assesses conditions using tools like MORSE fall scale or Oswestry pain scale as appropriate.
  4. Provides patient education materials and communicates physician instructions to patients.
  5. Obtains patient consent for care and procedures.
  6. Assists with office surgeries and procedures such as injections, US injections, C-arm injections, fracture reductions, and podiatric procedures.
  7. Works closely with providers, nurses, and staff to ensure quality patient care.
  8. Fits patients with boots, braces, and other DME items as ordered.
  9. Performs cast and splint application and removal, dressing changes, and suture/staple removal, providing patient education as needed.
  10. Prepares injections and obtains lab, imaging, and office visit data from outside facilities.
  11. Places orders for therapy, imaging, labs, etc., as directed by providers.
  12. Ensures patient confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA, OSHA, and Red Flag rules.
  13. Maintains infection control, safety guidelines, and confidentiality policies.
  14. Improves clinic processes and addresses related issues.
  15. Prepares instruments for sterilization and maintains autoclave and AEDs.
  16. Manages supply inventory, laundry, and biohazard waste disposal.
  17. Collects and transports instruments for sterilization and manages sterilized items for clinic use.
  18. Trains staff on rooming, fitting, DME dispensing, and casting procedures.
  19. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Certifications: Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Basic Life Support (BLS), Certified Medical Assistant (NCCT, AAMA, AMT, NAHP, ARMA).
Education: High school diploma or GED.
Work Experience: Knowledge of medical terminology.

Salary Range
