Description

The Certified Medical Office Assistant is responsible for assisting in the direct delivery of primary health care support and patient care management under the supervision of the Physician. Responsibilities include supporting nursing care implementation, managing all aspects of the medical office, and may involve duties in both front office and clinical areas. The role involves full access to patient health information.

M-F 8a-5p

Location

The Certified Medical Office Assistant Float will travel between all of the Iredell Physician Network clinics based on a schedule. Compensation and mileage reimbursement are provided.

Requirements
  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Must be a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or have completed the Assessment-based Recognition in Order Entry (ABR-OE) program through the American Association of Medical Assistants. If not certified, must complete the ABR-OE program upon hire. Certifications must be current.
  3. Knowledge of medical practice procedures, equipment, and safety protocols. Venipuncture training and ability preferred.
  4. Clerical experience in scheduling, billing, medical records, and familiarity with medical office equipment. Proficient in computer skills and business software.
  5. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, multi-tasking ability, and customer service skills.
  6. Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire.
Physical Demands
  • Must have full range of motion, pass basic FIT test, and be able to walk, kneel, stand, push, pull, bend, reach, sit for extended periods, and lift up to 30 pounds.
