Job Summary

The successful candidate will travel within Wyoming and Luzerne counties. Must live within a commutable distance to clinic locations. Offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus, float premium of $3/hour, and mileage reimbursement. Requires graduation from an accredited 1-year certificate or 2-year diploma Medical Assistant program, and certification as CMA or RMA from NHA, AMT, AAMA, NAHP, NCCT, AAH, or AMCA.

Job Duties

• Obtain and document patient information using electronic medical records.
• Prepare examination and treatment rooms.
• Assist patients and ensure safety and privacy.
• Provide direct patient care, including EKGs, wound dressings, minor surgical support.
• Prepare and administer medications as per policy, excluding IV medications.
• Complete tests and treatments per provider’s orders.
• Collect and prepare lab specimens.
• Perform phlebotomy and assist with lab functions.
• Support clerical duties, including scheduling, filing, and documentation.
• Use electronic medical records and scheduling systems.
• Facilitate patient appointments, referrals, and pre-authorizations.
• Collect co-payments.
• Assist with staff orientation and patient communication.
• Reinforce patient education.
• Inventory supplies and medications as needed.
• Prepare and disinfect instruments and examination rooms.
• Participate in patient safety and quality improvement programs.

Work is performed in a clinical environment with possible travel. Complies with organizational policies. Additional department-specific skills may be required.

Position Details

Provides clinical and administrative support in outpatient settings, performing duties under provider supervision, including patient prep, documentation, and support. Requires graduation from an accredited program and certification as CMA or RMA.

Education

High School Diploma or GED required; specialty training preferred.

Experience

At least 1 year of related work experience preferred.

Certifications and Licenses

Basic Life Support certification within 6 months; Certified Medical Assistant or RMA required.
