Overview

NaphCare is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our team of medical professionals at the Hamilton County Justice Center in Cincinnati, OH.

As a Correctional CMA, you will work alongside correctional officers and other healthcare professionals to provide care to individuals in residence. This role involves assisting physicians, taking patient histories, vital signs, supporting administrative tasks, and more. New grads are encouraged to apply — we will train you in correctional healthcare!

Responsibilities
Clinical Duties:
  • Perform patient assessments, including interviewing about health problems and medication history
  • Take and document vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, weight, PPDs, EKGs, and basic lab tests
  • Administer medication under physician’s direction
  • Provide basic wound care, perform blood draws, and routine clinical tasks
  • Assist with patient hygiene, ambulation, and dressing changes
  • Support providers during examinations and procedures
  • Provide basic patient education and instructions
Administrative Duties:
  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments
  • Maintain inventory of supplies
  • Answer phones, emails, and other communications
Qualifications

New grads are encouraged to apply!

  • CMA Certification from an accredited program
  • High school diploma or GED
  • CPR certification (if required)
  • Office Lab Assistant License (Nevada only)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Professionalism, adherence to policies, and legal requirements
  • Pass criminal background check and drug screening

Physical Capabilities: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, perform CPR, and other physically demanding tasks.
