About the Role

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is primarily responsible for utilizing the nursing process to address the healthcare needs of assigned patients within established standards of care. The role also includes office procedures related to patient care and front office duties to ensure efficient clinic operations.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Active Registry or Certification as a Medical Assistant required. Current BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One to two years of related experience preferred. Experience with lab tech or radiology equipment is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Clerical and clinical skills.
Responsibilities
  • Perform initial patient assessments, document findings, and implement physician’s orders.
  • Establish care plans, document referrals, administer and document medications, and follow infection control protocols.
  • Perform radiological or lab procedures if credentialed, provide radiation safety, and document results and equipment maintenance.
  • Assist patients via phone, file charts, record visits and charges, and provide x-ray orientation as needed.
Physical Demands
  • Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, carry up to 20 lbs occasionally, and perform frequent standing, walking, bending, and pushing activities.
