Job description

Howard County Medical Center in Columbia, MD is hiring for Certified Medical Assistants for the Internal Medicine Department.

Schedule:

11:30a-8p M, T, Th; and 9a-5:30p W, F

Pay range: $25 - $27

  1. Obtains vital signs & assists patients in preparation for examination/procedure.
  2. Records and documents in the medical record.
  3. Ensures safe & efficient patient flow.
  4. Administers medications and immunizations.
  5. Organizes the clinic environment to assure patient safety.
  6. Reads & interprets medical records and physician orders.
  7. Reads & interprets equipment in conjunction with patient information.
  8. Displays responsible behaviors, communicates effectively, and functions at the highest level based on scope of practice.
Minimum Qualifications:
  1. High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  2. Certification (CMA, CCMA, RMA, NCMA, or NRCMA) from an approved agency.
  3. Demonstrated competency in all skills related to patient care.
  4. Valid BLS CPR certification required upon hire; recertification every two years.
  5. At least 6 months of CMA experience.
