Join Our Infusion Team!

Located on the 5th floor of the Adult Outpatient Pavilion, the Infusion Clinic provides vital care to oncology and other medical patients, ranging from well-managed chronic conditions to acute illnesses. Our nurses deliver compassionate, safety-focused care during treatments such as chemotherapy, biotherapy, and hazardous medications. Patients often become part of our infusion family, with many returning over the years.

By joining our team, you'll work with a group that values teamwork and leadership that understands your role. Our nurses develop specialized skills, including credentialing to hang oncology medications. Clinic hours are 7am-7pm, with options for 4 10-hour shifts or 5 8-hour shifts, and some flexibility for late shifts, holidays, and future weekend hours.

Position Overview: Certified Medical Assistant

The Certified Medical Assistant provides direct, age-specific patient care under physician direction, based on medical orders and care plans.

Qualifications
  1. Licensure, Certification, or Registration: Current Medical Assistant Certification from a recognized national association (e.g., AAMA, AMT, NHA, ARMA).
  2. Continued Employment Requirements: Same as above.
  3. Certifications: AHA BLS HCP or equivalent.
  4. Experience:
    • At least 1 year of medical assistant experience within the last 3 years if not a graduate of a medical assistant program.
    • No experience required if a graduate of an accredited medical assistant program.
    • Experience with computers and software like Microsoft Office and email.
    • Strong organizational, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  5. Preferred Experience: 2-3 years as a Medical Assistant, experience in an academic healthcare setting.
  6. Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; preferred graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting training program (CAAHEP or ABHES).
Additional Requirements
  • Works under supervision, providing patient care, emotional support, and problem solving.
  • Requires prior approval for schedule changes, legal issues, or care deviations.
  • May handle medications and supplies.
  • Schedules include all shifts, weekends, and holidays, with rotations and adjustments as needed.
  • Serves all age groups.
  • Physical activities include lifting 20-50 lbs, standing, sitting, bending, walking, climbing, reaching.
  • Requires strong recall, reasoning, problem solving, hearing, speaking clearly, reading, and adapting to a fast-paced environment.
