Join us as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) at Ephrata Urgent Care within Penn Medicine, University of Pennsylvania Health System.

About the Role

We are hiring a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for a full-time position in Ephrata. The role involves providing clinical support under supervision, preparing patients, administering medications, assisting with procedures, performing Point of Care tests, and ensuring a positive patient experience.

Location and Hours

Location: Ephrata Urgent Care, 895 E. Main St., Ephrata, PA

Hours: Full-Time, 3x12-hour shifts per week, including weekends. Initial onboarding includes weekday training, with travel required for onboarding, annual training, and occasional support at other locations.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for visits, administer injections and medications, assist with procedures, perform Point of Care Testing, and wound care.
  • Provide clinical advice via phone or electronic communication, relay information to providers, and assist with test tracking and referrals.
  • Maintain exam rooms and medical instruments, support proactive patient outreach, and coordinate care activities.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives and daily huddles, serve as a patient advocate, and handle patient information confidentially.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited institution (AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, RMA, NAHP); certification must be obtained within 6 months if not already certified.
  • CPR certification (AHA Basic Life Support) required within 30 days of hire.
  • Valid driver’s license required for regional positions.
  • In good standing with Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal and state health insurance programs.
Credentials and Education
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)
  • Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (Required)
  • H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
