Wellstar Health System is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for outpatient care. You will perform CMA duties including obtaining vital signs, drawing blood, and administering limited injections under supervision of a licensed provider.
You will also assist with exams, manage room setup, and support EMR documentation in a fast-paced clinic. You should have CMA certification and 1 year of outpatient experience preferred, with proficiency in phlebotomy, EKGs, and basic patient education.
Work Shift Various (United States of America)
Performs assigned patient care duties under the direction of a licensed provider (MD/PA/NP) or RN. Responsible for performing CMA clinical duties to include, but not limited to obtaining vital signs, administering limited profile of medications/injections per approved policy, performing simple diagnostic tests, collecting specimens, drawing blood, cleaning equipment, ordering/stocking supplies, and maintaining exam rooms in an outpatient care setting. Assists in emergencies as directed by licensed provider or RN. Duties are practice site-specific and may fluctuate based on location.
Other / Certificate Medical Assisting or Associates Medical Assisting-Preferred
All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.
BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor or BLS - Basic Life Support CMA - Cert Medical Assistant
Current certification from one of the following medical assisting credentialing bodies (accrediting body listed first, certification denoted in parenthesis): AAMA (CMA), AMT (RMA), NHA (CCMA), NCCT (NCMA), or MedCA.
