Role Overview

A Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) at Kaniksu Community Health is responsible for providing excellent customer service and a positive patient experience while performing clinical or administrative tasks in a fast-paced environment. You will assist patients in managing their care as part of the healthcare team.

Typical Responsibilities
  • Preparing exam rooms and equipment, restocking supplies, maintaining inventory
  • Rooming patients, recording patient history, and documenting chief complaints
  • Measuring vital signs and administering screening tests under supervision
  • Performing routine procedures such as lab work, assisting with patient care tasks, and following provider orders
  • Preparing patients for tests, collecting specimens, administering medications, and applying dressings
  • Managing patient records and facilitating communication among care team members
  • Providing patient education materials and coordinating care with other services
  • Ensuring high-quality, coordinated patient care
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited medical or nursing assistant program with current C.M.A credential
  • 3-5 years of experience in a primary care or community health setting preferred
  • Basic typing and computer skills; Nextgen EMR experience preferred
  • Accuracy and proficiency in medical documentation
  • Professional communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

This role requires occasional travel to satellite clinics in Bonners Ferry and Priest River.

Work Schedule

Full-time, 40 hours/week, 4x10-hour shifts
