Role Overview

The Medical Assistant provides direct patient care, performs administrative duties, and supports clinical operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Obtain and document patient information, prepare examination rooms, assist with patient preparations, perform tests (EKGs, phlebotomy, wound care), administer medications (excluding IV), process lab specimens, and support provider procedures.
• Handle clerical tasks such as scheduling, referrals, co-pay collection, and maintaining accurate medical records using electronic systems.
• Assist with inventory management, sterilization, infection control, and equipment maintenance.
• Facilitate patient communication, reinforce education, and participate in safety and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills

• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program preferred; certification (CMA or RMA) from recognized bodies is required.
• Strong clinical skills, attention to detail, excellent communication, and ability to follow protocols are essential.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and support team functions is important.
