Cornerstone Dermatology & Surgery Group in Lee's Summit, MO is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our busy dermatology practice. The ideal candidate will have dermatology experience, with Mohs surgery support preferred, and a strong commitment to excellent patient care.

Responsibilities include patient check-in, rooming, documenting histories and vitals, assisting providers with exams and procedures, EMR documentation, and front desk support as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current CMA, RMA, or CCMA credential.
• Minimum 1 year of medical assisting experience in a clinical setting; dermatology experience preferred.
• Mohs surgery assisting experience preferred but not required.
• Proficiency with EMR systems and basic computer skills.
• Strong communication, attention to detail, and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to patient-centered care and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional patient care and service.
• Room patients, obtain and document histories, chief complaints, and vital signs.
• Assist providers with general dermatology exams and procedures (biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy, etc.).
• Assist Mohs surgeon with pre-op setup, intra-op patient flow, and post-op care.
• Prepare, stock, and turn over exam and procedure rooms, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
• Perform clinical tasks such as suture removal and wound care per provider orders.
• Handle specimen labeling and preparation according to practice protocols.
• Provide patient education on wound care, procedures, and treatment plans.
• Document accurately and efficiently in the EMR.
• Support front office/phone triage as needed, including scheduling and patient communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional patient care and service
• Room patients, obtain and document histories, chief complaints, and vital signs.

• Minimum 1 year of medical assisting experience in a clinical setting; dermatology experience strongly preferred.
• Mohs surgery assisting experience preferred but not required.
• Proficiency with EMR systems and basic computer skills.
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule

• Monday–Thursday: 7:30 am – 4:30 pm
• Friday: 7:30 am – 3:30 pm
