Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Health System in Fayetteville, NC seeks a Nursing Support/Medical Assistant to support physicians and clinicians in a busy outpatient setting. You will take vital signs, update patient records, and assist with procedures under supervision.

Requirements include a High School diploma, completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, and certification (e.g., CMA/RMA) with BLS. Prior outpatient experience is preferred and strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program with a recognized certification.
• Active CMA, RMA, CMA(MEDCA), CMA(ARMA) or CCMA certification is required or preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association is required.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians by taking vital signs and updating patient charts during visits.
• Perform and document nursing tasks, medications, and therapies as directed.
• Front desk duties: greet patients, schedule appointments, and input ICD/CPT coding for billing.
• Coordinate with outside partners and respond to Epic In Basket messages in a timely manner.
• Maintain infection prevention standards and sterile processing readiness as assigned.
