Job summary

Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for a full-time, multi-location ambulatory care role in Cardiology EP. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, with responsibilities across Tampa and Wesley Chapel locations.

The successful candidate will perform patient care under physician/APP supervision, collect data, assist during exams, and document in the EMR, while maintaining compliance with Orlando Health standards. Education and CMA licensure are required.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school (or 1 year CMA experience).
• Maintains current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification and CMA/CCMA/CMAC/NCMA/NCCT/NAHP/NRCMA/NRCAMA/AMT/ARMA/AAH certifications.

Responsibilities

• Accountable to leadership for operational issues and performance improvements.
• Participates in quality initiatives and clinical outcome improvements.
• Communicates professionally with patients and families.
• Works with administrative and operations staff.
• Gathers patient data through interviews and observation.
• Assists patients and families with preparation for examinations.
• Assists physician or APP during examinations and procedures.
• Performs routine treatments and administers approved medication types.
• Documents data, treatments, procedures, and patient education in EMR.
• Schedules specialty testing and physician consultations as needed.
• Handles calls with clinical judgment and professional conduct.
• Enters orders into the EMR under provider direction.
• Maintains compliance with Orlando Health policies and infection control standards.
• Maintains regular attendance per policies and standards.

Education

High school graduate or equivalent

Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school (or at least one year of verifiable and applicable work experience as a Certified Medical Assistant in a patient care setting)
