Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Full-time position in Round Rock, TX, in the Cardiology department. The role involves preparing exam rooms, measuring vital signs, and transcribing diagnoses and orders into patient records to ensure accurate care journeys. The schedule is Day Shift, Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM.

Minimum requirements include BLS within 30 days of hire and professional MA credentials within 6 months. CMA experience and travel to Georgetown, Pflugerville, and Liberty Hill are preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date is required.
• One or more Medical Assistant credentials from recognized bodies must be obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or transfer date.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Lead the clinical flow by preparing exam rooms and prioritizing patient transitions to ensure a seamless, stress-free experience for both the provider and the patient.
• Capture the patient’s story by accurately measuring vital signs and interviewing patients to ensure the care team has a clear, real-time clinical picture before every consultation.
• Master clinical documentation by transcribing diagnoses, orders, and follow-up instructions into the patient record, ensuring the accuracy of the care journey from start to finish.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• One or more of the following required:
• Medical Assistant credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Medical Certification (AMCA) also accepted.
• Medical Assistant credentialed from the National Association for Health Professionals obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Medical Certification (AMCA) also accepted.
• Medical Assistant credentialed from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Medical Certification (AMCA) also accepted.
• Medical Assistant credentialed from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Medical Certification (AMCA) also accepted.
• Medical Assistant credentialed from the American Medical Technologists (AMT) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Medical Certification (AMCA) also accepted.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
