Job description

Cetechs, a Service-Disabled Veteran owned company, is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to work on-site at the Federal Correctional Complex (FCC) in Tucson, AZ. The complex includes the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI), a United States Penitentiary (USP), and a Satellite Prison Camp (SPC).

Schedule: Monday through Friday (excluding Federal holidays), typically between 6:00 am and 4:30 pm.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assist clinicians by taking and recording patient history, vital signs, scheduling appointments, and other clinical activities.
2. Support tele-health providers by assisting with patient-side examinations.
3. Provide pre-operative instructions to patients as directed by the doctor.
4. Educate patients on health-related topics.
5. Assist the phlebotomist with blood draws, perform POC testing, process lab tests, and handle urinalysis.
6. Provide clinical supportive care, including applying/removing dressings, removing sutures, ear lavage, and pill administration (excluding controlled substances).
7. Perform EKGs.
8. Help manage patient flow during visits and appointments.
9. Assist medical records staff with filing, copying, and audits as needed.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program.
• Valid certification to practice as a Medical Assistant in Arizona.
• CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• At least one year of experience as a medical assistant; correctional setting experience preferred.
