Job summary

CommonSpirit Health in Texas is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support the care team with direct patient care, screenings, and coordination.

You will greet patients, record vitals, assist with procedures, administer medications as ordered, and handle administrative tasks while using technology to coordinate care for diverse patient populations. You will ensure patients feel at ease and address concerns with compassion and clear explanations.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED at hire.
  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant and other CMA credentials required.
  • Ability to obtain and record vital signs and perform clinical tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general patient care by following established standards and procedures.
  • Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider.
  • Obtain and record vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, and current medications and presenting problem.
  • May draw blood samples and prepare specimens for lab analysis.
  • Administer medications and/or vaccines per orders.
  • May perform routine tests including EKGs.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), you will be a vital pillar of our care team, significantly impacting patient well-being through direct support and seamless coordination.


Every day, you will actively collaborate on comprehensive screenings, assist with clinical procedures, provide essential health education, and expertly manage administrative tasks, leveraging technology to coordinate care for diverse patient populations. You will ensure patients feel at ease, patiently explaining instructions and addressing their concerns.


To be successful in this role, you will possess strong clinical knowledge, technological fluency, genuine compassion for patient well-being, and an adaptable spirit keen on continuous learning and collaborative teamwork.



  • Perform general patient care by following established standards and procedures.

  • May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.

  • Administer ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topically, rectal, ophthalmic, and/or inhalant administration.

  • May perform routine tests including but not limited to EKG's.

  • Certified Medical Assistant AAMA, upon hire or

  • Certified Medical Assistant NHA, upon hire or

  • National Certified Medical Assistant NCCT, upon hire or

  • National Registered/Certified Medical Assistant NAHP, upon hire or

  • Registered Medical Assistant AMT, upon hire or

  • Registered Medical Assistant, upon hire or

  • Cert Med Asst - MMCI, upon hire and

  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days
