Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support care teams with direct patient care and coordinated workflows. The role involves greeting patients, taking vital signs, preparing patients for providers, collecting specimens, and administering medications or vaccines as ordered.

The CMA will perform routine tests such as EKGs and must hold a CMA certification (CCMA, AAMA, NHA, NCCT, NAHP, AMT, or MMCI) and BLS CPR within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required at hire
• Certification as CMA or equivalent required at hire
• Multiple CMA certifications accepted at hire (CCMA, AAMA, NHA, NCCT, NAHP, AMT, MMCI)
• BLS/CPR within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Perform general patient care following established standards and procedures
• Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider
• Obtain and record vital signs (blood pressure, temp, pulse, respiration, height, weight, allergies, medications)
• Draw and collect blood samples and prepare specimens for lab analysis as required
• Administer medications and/or vaccines by various routes
• May perform routine tests including EKGs

Job Summary

As a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), you will be a vital pillar of our care team, significantly impacting patient well-being through direct support and seamless coordination.

Responsibilities

• Perform general patient care by following established standards and procedures.
• Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider.
• Obtain and record vital signs including but not limited to, blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, and current medications and presenting problem.
• May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Administer ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topically, rectal, ophthalmic, and/or inhalant administration.
• May perform routine tests including but not limited to EKG’s.

Pay Range

$17.71 - $25.02 /hour
