SOCIAL CLUBHOUSE

POSITION TITLE: CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT

Reports to: Program Psychiatrist

Program Director

Assistant Director - in the event of Program Director’s absence

Administrative Duties:

• Assisting the psychiatrist during member appointments
• Preparing member charts for psychiatric visit
• Assuring medication logs in charts are correct
• Supporting members with their goal for independently filling medication pill packs
• Gather and/or confirm contact information and insurance data
• Insurance and prior authorizations
• Answering health/medical phone calls and emails
• Scheduling appointments for members with the psychiatrist
• Updating and filing members’ medical records in charts
• Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment, and medications
  
  
  

Clinical Duties:

• Schedule new and follow-up appointments for members
• Prepare room and ensure supplies are ready, ordering more when necessary
• Assist in procedures and examinations
• Provide minimal first aid as required (ie bandaids, over the counter medication)
• Taking vitals and record in members’ charts
• Working with pharmacies and assisting members
• Support members in taking their medication and injections when needed
  
  
  

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a medical field (preferred)
• Certified Medical Assistant Certification (must have)
• Able to administer injections
• 1+ years of experience working for a healthcare practice or hospital
• Medication handling/administering experience and familiarity with medical technology
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
