Support clinical care in the role of certified medical assistant within defined protocols and tasks for patients at USC Upstate Health Services. Provide vitals signs, medication and allergy review, vision screening, lab specimen collection and processing, phlebotomy.
Requires current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification, 2 years experience working as a medical assistant in a hospital or ambulatory care setting, and electronic medical records experience. A successful background check is required.
BLS CPR Certification, phlebotomy and outbound lab preparation, in house specimen collection and POC Lab Testing, Instrument Sterilization/Autoclave.
Current licensure or certification in the specific field. Interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to assess, identify, and address individual needs. Knowledge of or the ability to learn medical terminology, use medical equipment and follow clinical orders. Possess clinical skills necessary to treat patients of all ages. Ability to problem solve. Ability to work in a team situation. Ability to conduct business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures, and regulations.
Salary: $20 – $22 per hour based on education and experience.
