The ideal candidate should have completed a formal training program and possess at least six months of experience. Required certifications include CMA and BLS. Benefits include medical insurance, PTO, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Completion of a formal medical assistant training program (NHA, NCCT, AMT, AAMA, NCMA, AMCA, AECA, or NAHP).
• At least six months experience in a medical office or ambulatory care setting.
• CMA Certification and BLS Certification from AHA required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and assist with patient examinations and procedures.
• Take and record patient vital signs and medical histories.
• Administer injections, vaccines, and medications as directed.
• Collect specimens and perform point‑of‑care testing.
• Ensure all documentation is completed accurately in the EMR.
• Maintain clinical supply inventory and ensure exam rooms are fully stocked.
• Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe patient environment.
• Support coordination of care across various specialties within the hub.

Category/Status: Full-Time

Shift: Day – Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM

Pay Range: $23.50 – $29.90 per hour

Job Overview

RWJBarnabas Health is looking to add a qualified Certified Medical Assistant in Old Bridge, NJ. The Certified Medical Assistant is an essential member of the clinical care team, supporting providers across multiple specialties in a fast‑paced medical office hub. Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking and recording vital signs, assisting with examinations and procedures, administering injections and medications as directed, and accurately documenting clinical information in the electronic medical record. The CMA plays a critical role in ensuring efficient patient flow, maintaining clinical equipment and supplies, and delivering high‑quality, compassionate care.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

Required

Preferred

• Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a medical office or ambulatory care setting
• Experience with electronic medical records; EPIC experience strongly preferred

Certifications and Licenses Required

• Day Shift, 40 hours/week
• Monday-Friday 9:00 AM-5:30 PM
