The CMA provides support to primary care providers and delivers clinical care including vital signs, ECG, injections, specimen processing, and more. It participates in pre-visit planning, explains procedures to patients, and may float to other clinics. The role supports the healthcare team to ensure exceptional patient care, operating under NC Medical Board and NC Board of Nursing regulations.
