Responsibilities
  • Performs general patient care following established clinic workflows.
  • Greets and prepares patients for the healthcare provider by obtaining and recording vital signs, reviewing drug allergies and current medications, completing screening questionnaires, and documenting the reason for visit.
  • Collects and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Prepares and provides ordered medications and vaccines to patients.
  • Cleans and sterilizes instruments.
  • Ensures patient exam rooms are stocked, clean, and orderly.
  • Escalates non-routine issues, questions, and concerns timely and appropriately.
  • Completes safety checklists and quality controls, taking necessary actions as indicated.
  • Performs other duties within the scope of role as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program (ABHES or CAAHEP). Programs with externships may also be considered.
  • Active Nebraska Medication Aide Registry status within 90 days of hire.
  • Current nationally recognized certification (AAMA/CMA, RMA, NCMA), or Basic Life Support (BLS).
