Job summary

Wexford Health Sources, Inc. is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for our Jail East facility in Memphis, TN. This role supports clinicians, performs vital signs, screenings, and assists with exams and procedures while maintaining documentation and equipment.

You will contribute to organized, compassionate patient care and may engage in basic education and administrative tasks. A CMA/RMA certification and CPR are required, with a high school diploma or GED as a baseline.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required or equivalent (RMA acceptable)
• Current CPR certification required
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Strong organizational and communication skills essential
• Healthcare experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care, clinical procedures, and daily medical unit operations.
• Obtain vital signs, patient screenings, and collect clinical information for providers.
• Support physicians, nurses, and advanced practice providers with examinations, treatments, and minor procedures.
• Implement provider orders and maintain accurate patient documentation and unit inventory.
• Clean, sterilize, and maintain medical equipment and instruments.
• Provide basic patient education, first aid, and administrative support as needed.

SCHEDULE: 8-4:30 Monday – Friday
FACILITY: Jail East
LOCATION: Memphis, TN

Position Summary

Working under the supervision of clinical leadership, you'll assist with patient care, clinical procedures, and daily medical unit operations. Your responsibilities will include:

• Obtaining vital signs, performing patient screenings, and gathering clinical information for healthcare providers
• Assisting physicians, nurses, and advanced practice providers with examinations, treatments, and minor procedures
• Implementing provider orders and supporting patient care activities within scope of practice
• Maintaining accurate documentation, patient records, and medical unit inventory
• Cleaning, sterilizing, and maintaining medical equipment and instruments
• Providing basic patient education, first aid, CPR, and administrative support as needed

What You’ll Need

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or other Medical Assistant certification from vocational, technical school may be considered
• Current CPR certification
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Strong organizational, communication, and patient care skills
• Healthcare experience preferred
