Wexford Health Sources, Inc. is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support the medical team at Northern Regional Jail & Correctional Center in Moundsville, WV. The role involves assisting with patient care, clinical procedures, and unit operations, under clinical leadership.

You will obtain vital signs, assist with examinations, implement orders, and maintain records, while contributing to timely, organized, and compassionate care in a correctional health setting.

Qualifications

• Certification as CMA or RMA required or considered.
• Current CPR certification.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong organizational, communication, and patient-care skills.
• Healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs, perform patient screenings, and gather clinical information for providers.
• Assist physicians, nurses, and providers with examinations, treatments, and minor procedures.
• Implement provider orders and support patient care within scope of practice.
• Maintain accurate documentation, patient records, and medical unit inventory.
• Clean, sterilize, and maintain medical equipment and instruments.
• Provide basic patient education, CPR, and administrative support as needed.

As a Medical Assistant, you'll play an important role in supporting providers and nursing staff while helping ensure the efficient delivery of healthcare services.

Position Summary
Working under the supervision of clinical leadership, you'll assist with patient care, clinical procedures, and daily medical unit operations. Your responsibilities will include:

• Obtaining vital signs, performing patient screenings, and gathering clinical information for healthcare providers
• Assisting physicians, nurses, and advanced practice providers with examinations, treatments, and minor procedures
• Implementing provider orders and supporting patient care activities within scope of practice
• Maintaining accurate documentation, patient records, and medical unit inventory
• Cleaning, sterilizing, and maintaining medical equipment and instruments
• Providing basic patient education, first aid, CPR, and administrative support as needed

What You’ll Need

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or other Medical Assistant certification from vocational, technical school may be considered
• Current CPR certification
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Strong organizational, communication, and patient care skills
• Healthcare experience preferred
